After downloading Flash Player, close all browsers. Locate the Flash Player install file. Unless you have specified otherwise, the file is saved in your Downloads folder. Double-click the installer file to begin the Flash Player installation. Choose Window Downloads or press Option+Command+L. Will Adobe make previous versions of Adobe Flash Player available for download after 2020? Adobe will be removing Flash Player download pages from its site and Flash-based content will be blocked from running in Adobe Flash Player after the EOL Date. Adobe always recommends using the latest, supported and up-to-date software. Open the page that has the rich media content in Internet Explorer. For example, visit Flash Player. Many of the most prevalent Mac malware right now arrive on your Mac via a fake Flash Player download. Click on Install Adobe Flash Player. 'Blocked Plug-in' when attempting to view Flash.

4. Did the installer start installing?
You don’t know where the Flash Player installer has been downloaded.

By default, the files are downloaded and saved to the Downloads folder unless the 'save to' location is changed manually.
- After downloading Flash Player, close all browsers.

Choose Window > Downloads or press Option+Command+L. Control-click the downloaded file and choose Show in Finder.
5. Are you unable to resolve the issue?
The rich-media content does not work, and you do not know what the issue is.
Uninstall Flash Player and perform a clean install of Flash Player.
6. Do you have password-related issues?
If you are unable to authenticate successfully, check your user name and password. Use your system credentials, not your Adobe ID.

Adobe Flash is turned off by default in the new Microsoft Edge. This is because Adobe announced that Flash will no longer be supported after 2020. Microsoft plans to remove Flash from Windows entirely by the end of 2020. Other browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla, and Safari are also planning on removing Adobe Flash in the same timeframe.
Here’s how to allow or block Flash permanently for individual websites:
- Go to Settings and more > Settings .
- In the left navigation, select Site permissions.

- Set the toggle on for the Ask before running Flash option.
The Block and Allow lists will be available after you visit a site that uses Flash.
